I figure that you must live somewhere fairly hot and, I am guessing, fairly low humidity? I’m in England and we have high humidity in hot weather, so fully drying out can take rather longer! Depends what you wear of course: I’m thinking of cotton, not polyester.
Sounds like you went to a good college! My degree course (computer science) was a social failure; I took away only valuable knowledge and technical experience, not friendships or happy memories.
Indeed, getting wet in the rain is a nice kind of freedom from rules and caring.
