Even in 'realistic' shows or movies, when a character gets soaked, the only remnant of that is a little wet hair, which is somehow supposed to convince us the actor is soaked. Clothes and shoes are dry again moments after getting fully soaked. Even in warm weather you look wet for some time and especially boots or shoes don't dry quick when you keep wearing them soaked. Ever hear or see actors squelch in wet shoes some time after he gets out of the water (or even moments after)? Those scenes are rare.
