I've been in lots of hotel pools around the world usually starting off with tracksuit bottoms (no underwear) and a polo shirt. As sportswear is my preferred swimwear mostly for sun protection I may mix things up by going for shorts and a lightweight hoodie or 1/4 zip top. Sweatpants are great fun, but do take a long time to dry and when I'm in the USA and have brought some new jeans the old ones may go for a swim. I use the same swimwear for lake/river/sea or any wet activity with the addition of shoes.
