did my mud engineering inspire the city workers?

Last Sunday's rain had been light at my residence, but I saw the rain gage reports and found it had been much heavier in northern Phoenix, so this morning I decided to see if there was mud at the Reach 11 Recreation Area.
I was disappointed. It was all gone. Still I needed exercise and the worst of the heat was broken. It was only expected to be 93°F this afternoon, so I took a hike in the area anyway.
I passed by an area where last time I was there I had engaged in some mud engineering. I had used my boot heels to stomp in the mud and create a drainage ditch from a large mud puddle to an arroyo. Everything had dried but the terrain had clearly been altered. The drainage ditch wasn't narrow and amateurish created by one man spending some time stomping and kicking in the mud. It had been widened and deepened by actual construction equipment. It looks like I may have inspired the municipal construction workers.
