The day was overcast and 55'F and windy. Ifelt like getting wet and muddy down at the river, today, so I did. I was wearing an Old Navy jacket, faded Levis jeans, a white longsleeve baseball-type T-shirt, but not a jersey, and long johns, with New Balence shoes, no socks. The mud was like quicksand but the consistancy of pudding. You sink in it right as you step in it. If you didn't know what it was, you would most certainly panic. As far as I know, there is no bottom to this spot; but the soil pressure will keep you from sinking too deep. At this time of year though, every minute counts towards HYPOTHERMIA(most likely) or frost bite(less likely). Me, I have had 5 HYPOTHERMIAS. But, sometimes, I can't and won't help myself. When the urge strikes, it is impossible for me to resist it. Those hypothermias happened while in the military, when I could do nothing about them. When your commander or sergeant(sounds like sargeant) gives you an order, you must obey it.
