In the original 1969 version of True Grit, Mattie (Kim Darby)swims across a river in full cowgirl gear to catch up with the characters played by John Wayne and Glen Campbell, who were trying to ditch her. When she gets to the other side she is talking to them, and the camera briefly cuts away from her. When it returns to her in mid conversation, she is totally dry. She must have been wearing those same kind of quick-drying clothes!
