I recently found some old day planners from the late 1980's, the height of my wet clothes activity. (I was still single and could pretty much do what I wanted in my free time). In the summer months I was getting wet in public at least 3-4 times a week or more. In addition to the usual notes for appointments, to do lists, work projects, etc, there were some very small, cryptic notes in the corner of some pages. They were in some kind of code or abbreviations such as 501-2, red tank, Blue LS, gray swt, CK box. I finally figured out I was recording the clothes I swam in that day. On some days there were more than one set of clothes listed.
I have mentioned several times here that the first wet experiences are the most memorable. I could tell you in specific detail what I wore at some events in the early 70’s. Fifteen years later I was doing it so frequently, more than 100 times a year, that it all became a blur. Thanks to these notes I have been able to reconstruct some of that.
