Portable Polar Plunge Pool

Just received notification from a friend who works as a meter maid for a police department in Massachusetts that they will be holding a polar plunge on December 10th. Initially I thought they would be using a swimming pool as it was being held at a recreational center, but that's not the case at all.

Instead they are renting a portable pool. It works similar to the principle of a dunk tank in that you rent the pool, they bring it to your site, set it up, fill it with cold water and after the plunge they drain it and take it away.

From the pictures I saw it looks like a trash dumpster that has been fitted with a platform for jumpers to leap off from into the water at one end. There is actually a staircase at the other end for jumpers to use to exit "the pool".

It's a neat concept because it can be used by any organization at any place at any time. Don't need the ocean, lake, river or natural body of water. I think it's a really cool idea - literally!!!
