I guess that's an advantage of wearing a long dress instead of trousers (or as well as trousers) - they do tend to get wetter in the rain (more material, so greater surface area) especially when immersed in a deepish puddle. And I tend to choose my own outfits, as I am retired so don't need to conform to society's fashion expectations. And I live in a very LGBTQ+ friendly area. Regarding eye contact - I always smile at people, or generally, when walking down the street or wherever, which I guess is part of the reason why I got that unexpected random hug from the woman I wrote about on J&J's forum. It may also be an expanded aura, or pheromones, or some sort of Kundalini field :)
