What is my “subconscious fear of getting wet in clothes in public” and what has that got to do with swimming? The rivers around here are all very shallow. What I did say was that the water has a destabilising effect on me that worries me not because I fear that I will drown in 1 to 2 foot of water but because I don’t want to swallow the stuff!

I’ve never been sufficiently open, candid, frank here (or anywhere) for you or anyone to know why I could never chat someone up, but it’s nothing to do with looks, and not really because I can’t swim. I doubt I will, either. Being able to swim in itself would most likely have virtually no effect at all.
