It really posted. It was up for a few days. I'll give you a synopsis of what I remember of it:
They live in a rural part of Ontario, and when there was a heavy snowfall, the youngsters planned to shovel out the driveway of a lady who lived relatively near them. Robert wrote it was two minutes by car and 15 minutes by walking, so I'm guessing somewhere between a kilometer and a mile away.
The youngsters visited the nearby river first and found it had not yet frozen, so they decided to bathe in it so that they could shovel the snow in soaked clothes. The lady was shocked to see them soaked and thought they had fallen into the river. She was even more shocked that they had deliberately bathed in it.
She wouldn't have them walking home in wet clothes even for 15 minutes, so she telephoned Robert to arrange for him to bring them some dry clothes.
