Try not to worry too much about what other people think, first off. Second, ask your friends to join you without making it a big deal, but just a fun thing to try. Try daring your friends to either jump in, or push you into a pool. That has worked many times with friends of mine. We have made jumping in the pool a "punishment" for losing backgammon or cards, or I have also just stood at the edge of the pool "contemplating" the water, when one of my friends complied by pushing me in a few minutes later. But I think the important thing is to focus on it being fun, not weird, not sexual, just fun. Read some of the stories here, and you'll see that most of the general public doesn't even notice when someone gets wet, or if they do, its of little consequence to them, so just go for it.
