Thanks for sharing your story. I also worked at a Scout Camp one summer in Michigan and it probably is still one of the best times in my life. When summer was over and I was saying my good byes, my heart was aching and I cried (as did others) while getting in my car to drive home. I don't know if the names were of fiction, but I can't help but wonder if I knew you, because there was a lot of similarities in your story. In my teen years I struggled with thoughts and anxiety and stress but never acted on those thoughts. My parents have both passed on but I believe the family thinks I have been in the closet all my life, by the things family members have said over the years. Again, thanks for sharing, and I wish you well.
