I think if you are fully clothed in a lake or pool and wearing more than a tee shirt and shorts, people definitely notice. Especially if you have shoes on. I dont believe people are so much into themselves that they will not notice.
They most likely will not say anything to you directly, but in my experiences, I have seen many people looking, shaking their heads and even pointing at me when I have been in the lake fully clothed.
We can try to convince ourselves that it is because they are 'closeted wacky wetters' and are wanting to do it themselves, but that I doubt that is the case with the majority of them.
I do appreciate the belief that life is too short to worry about what others think and I agree with that!
