I have heard all my life that putting someone's hand in water while they're sleeping will cause them to wet the bed. I don't know if that's true since I've never seen it done, but it sounds like its related to your question.
I have often noticed that getting wet will make me want to pee, but I don't know why. If I'm a natural body of water I'll just let it go and no one will be the wiser, but if I'm in a pool I get out and use the restroom.
