So I thought I would put a spin on the “how many layers of clothes” can you wear at once and do a how many different sets of clothes could I soak in 24 hours. I live in Florida and the HOT HOT HOT weather has started, plenty warm enough all day to swim, and at night too.
I started shortly after midnight and started the sprinklers in order to water the front grass. Well, I’m not one to put this opportunity to waste and put on a gray t-shirt, my old, yet still very soft, green sweatshirt, red boxer briefs, my gray sweats, black socks and some cheap slip-ons and decided to inspect the sprinklers. By the time I finished, my pants, shoes, socks and the bottom of my sweatshirt and t-shirt were dripping.
So, what was there to do but inspect the pool, which due to the very hot weather is about 85 degrees, even at night. I had to take off the shoes as they were grass covered, but everything else swam nicely. All these clothes are super soft and comfortable inside and outside the pool. I enjoyed sitting by the pool, everything all wet, in the mild night air. So far, not even 1 hour into the day, and a set of clothes was dripping out on the deck. It is covered by a cage, so no bug problems.
Got some sleep but woke up early. I decided to see how well my first set of clothes were drying. I stayed in my gray pjs, blue t-shirt, black boxer briefs and brown socks. Somehow, well, who knows how, these clothes ended up in the pool too. Now I had two sets of clothes drying in the rising, and soon to be very hot, sun.
Then, the lawn needed cutting. Regardless of the heat, I cut the grass and then jumped in the pool, wearing my gray socks, black with a white stripe basketball shorts and another gray t-shirt. Since I had socks and underwear on, I counted this as my third soaking of the day, it was shortly before 10 and the count was now 3.
During the early afternoon, and it had to be early because thunderstorms were forecast, which is normal for Florida this time of year, we did our play time in the pool, and I wanted to swim in jeans this time as I love wet jeans. On went a pair of new light blue boxer briefs, a blue t-shirt with a long-sleeved brown polo over that, a newer pair of Levis 505s, black socks and some old, blue, slip-on Vans. It was so hot I just jumped on in! By now, most of the earlier swimming wet stuff was completely dry, so I had room to add more. We swam around for about an hour before lightning chased us indoors. That was swim #4.
Then, a surprise, by evening it looked like the rain had all shifted east. Even the local radar was clear so we decided to take our after-dinner walk. Well, and I had forgotten this, just because the earlier rain moved out and the sky was clearing, doesn’t mean the rain is over. All of a sudden, we were caught in a sudden monster downpour. It came out of nowhere, and as is typical in Florida, the sun was still out. Thankfully, this one did not have any lightning, so we didn’t run, we just walked in the rain, me in my bright yellow and blue New Balance sneakers, white ankle socks, tan shorts and a red t-shirt. Everything got soaked and this ended up being wet clothes for the 5th time.
Well, what harm could there be in one more time? The rain quickly dried up and by 10PM it was a quiet evening. I put on another pair of Levis jeans, bright yellow socks, an old pair of black and brown checkered Vans, green boxers, blue t-shirt and a older, well faded, blue sweatshirt and had a final swim, making it 6 times in 24 hours, a personal best.
Who knows, one day, I may try for 7!

BTW: Swim #1 and #6 had very satisfactory outcomes.
