The reason is that we don't have a letsencrypt certificate yet.

Currently certs have to be issued per domain name. The company I work for have over 450 domain names and it would be too much work to get one for each. Many of these domains point at our wetsites for you to enjoy.

We will get a cert for the whole server when we move to Norway and Letsencrypt launches their new IP# based cert in a few months, so we only need one.

We don't store any private user data like memberships or log-in accounts. Everything you post here can be seen by anyone without user accounts, hence secure web access is not an issue yet. It would become one if this were a members only wetsite and you would pay $9.99 a month to see it. That is not our plan.

This wetsite has been an open place since 1997 and it is only just now that this topic arises. If you ignore the security warning, you will go through to the encrypted version, just without a cert.

Stay wet.
Felix
