My Dad told me to respond to this, so here I am.
Yes, F was the target. He has been our friend forever (since kindergarten) and still is, but he's always been the shy one of our friend group. But he never got mad at us for this stuff (if he did we wouldn't have done it).
F did have spare clothes - we were on vacation and had a suitcase full of clothes. He only had one other pair of shoes, though, so if we were going to do this to him again we had to be careful. He was most definitely wearing boxers - the elastic was visible above his pants through his translucent white shirt. I know he was wearing socks (sox?? ha ha) too, but it was too long ago for me to remember what kind. As for the squishing, it's usually mostly shoes that squish. Whenever I've had wet shoes before, they squish whether I'm wearing socks or not. I can't imagine that was any different for him.
We actually both ended up in the pool. I'm the twin who was going to "pretend" to go downstairs to get the key, and it was my brother who originally pushed F into the pool (and got pulled in himself - he should'a known better than to push him in with his phone in his pocket). I did come into the pool room area to "sneak" up on F too, but it was T2 that ultimately did the pushing (and falling). At that point I didn't have much choice to take one for the team and jump in too, but I cleared my pockets of my phone first (thanks Dad).
We weren't really wearing "nice" shoes. I think Dad called them cool Nike shoes, but ours were just some old Jordan 1's. F had on some new-ish AF1's.
I think the "gene" or whatever has been passed from Dad to us, but I think we're just a lot more outgoing and extroverted than Dad, so we tend to not want to use it in the same way. I don't remember ever owning a bathing suit, even though we've also never owned a pool, and I don't recall ever being told to "not get soaked" or "take off your shoes/shirt" or anything like that, and we've never found it gross. But we don't really go around seeking out opportunities to get wet like Dad used to.
It's funny, I was just reading the other reply from the O.P. and our Dad seems much like him - he's "dare" us to get wet in some way to get advances to our allowance and such. Sometimes we'd do it, sometimes not. T2 did get mad at Dad once for it because he just wanted to go out with his girlfriend and Dad said he couldn't use the car unless he first soaked his shoes. Dad gave in eventually, but it was still funny. And we HAVE done this to get money too, we didn't always turn it down.
How old are you, Ry? You seem like a fun young guy. I know Dad started this stuff at a very young age (younger than a teen even). Me and T2 (or is it T2 and I???) are 19 now - both have girlfriends, both still live at home, both going to college.
