I have done something similar. I would shove a water bottle in my jeans pocket or hoodie pocket. If a hoodie pocket I would position cap of bottle out a small hole in the pocket and down front of jeans. If called out I would just pull the defective, leaking bottle out and laugh letting them know it was an accident and the wet was a clean wet. I always made sure the water was really warm.
To really make your jeans get really wet with very little water try soaking them then putting them in a spin cycle. They will be very damp to the point of almost not looking wet depending on the jeans fading. They get soaked fast when they are already wet. I wore cowboy boots once and had the jeans down the leg so the water ran into the boots. Kind of silly but that is what the love of wet jeans can do to a person.
