The purpose of this game show seems to be to soak these teenagers. One after the other gets drenched.
The photos were contributed by a generous reader who sorted them into a animated order.
If you download these images and skip through them quickly you can almost see the water pouring down.
"You Can't Do That On Television" is a television program produced in Canada from 1979 to 1990.
It was syndicated by the Nickelodeon network in the USA from about 1985 onward.
The show is a skit-based comedy starring two adults and a dozen kids (that changed over the years).
The "water and slime sketches" were a running gag on the show.
On each episode they would trick the
kids into saying "I don't know" which was the trigger word for green slime and if they say "water" they've received a good soaking.
Eventually they were all dripping wet.
It interesting to note that these teenagers are part of the cast, not the public or audience.
Their job is to get soaked and gunged every day during filming of the weekly 134 episodes they did over the eleven years.
Obviously they must enjoy getting wet fully clothed, it's part of their job.
One wonders how often in a day they had to change into another dry set of clothes.
See the game show photos.
