All Year Water Sports

Ever wanted to paddle your own canoe, experience open water diving or charter a yacht with friends? Britain offers some of the best year-round watersport opportunities and stunning locations. Get out and submerse yourself. Keep your clothes on in the water, it can be cool at times.

Once you get away from the bustle of the cities, there are some really beautiful spots to have fun in lakes and the sea. Check out our pages and you may find some wet spot you like.

Water Rides at UK Theme Parks

Neptune and Twillin have put together some info about their visits the the UK's theme parks. Enjoy the rides. Hope you get soaking wet.

Alton Towers

1. RIVER RAPIDS
   is great fun, its boats hold 6-8 people and there is a chance of getting wet as the boats go through the waterfall section.

2. THE FLUME
   is a variation of the log flume, the boats are replaced with bathtubs and shower sprays are fixed at the end of the ride.

3. RIPSAW
   A ride that spins you around through 360 degrees and shoots jet's of water at you. A sort of spin and rinse type of ride for people I guess.

4. UG Land
   has a few wet things to try like the interactive fountains and water bomb catapults.

Chessington World of Adventures

1. RAMESES REVENGE
   Like Ripesaw at Alton Towers but they are not as generous with the water so its more difficult to get really wet.

2. BUBBLE WORKS
   This ride is aimed at familes and children. You ride in little boats through animated scenes. In the last section of the ride the boats go under a series of water jets and if you put your hands into the jets of water everyone in your boat will get very wet.

3. DRAGON FALLS
   is a log flume type ride, there is a good chance the front rider will get their shoes filled with water as the boat tips forward to go down the slopes, apart from that its only a little bit wet.

4. BEANO Land
   is great fun, it has some interactive type fountains with water jets that can squirt at anyone standing nearby. They also have staged shows with actors playing Dennis and Minney where they sometimes squirt water at the watching audience.

Drayton Manor Park

1. STORMFORCE 10
   which is a very WET roller coaster with cars that look like life boats, it really is a WET ride. just one ride and you will get soaked, look out for the people standing by the fence at the ride entrance. This was our favourite ride at this park.

2. SPLASH CANYON
   is great fun, its boats hold 6-8 people and there is a good chance of getting splashed, at the last part of the ride where there are some water jets which squirt the boats.

Thorpe Park

1. TIDAL WAVE
   is a wet roller coaster with a big difference, it really is WET! just one ride and you will get soaked and if your not wet enough just stand at the ride exit. This is our favourite ride of all the parks we have visited.

2. RUMBA RAPIDS
   is great fun, its boats hold 6-8 people and there is a good chance of getting splashed, at the last part of the ride there are some water jets which squirt the boats.

3. LOGGERS LEAP
   is a log flume type ride, there is a good chance the front rider will get their shoes filled with water as the boat tips forward to go down the slopes. This ride is a bit wetter than the log flume at Chessington since it has a few added water effects and a higher drop.

4. 4D PIRATES
   is also great fun, not so much a ride as a 3D film show with added water effects there are usually quite a few people who get something of a wet supprise.

5. DEPTH CHARGE
   is a water slide. You ride down a chute in one/two man rubber boats, you get a bit wetter if there are two people in each boat.

Oakwood (Wales)

1. HYDRO
   which is described as the FASTEST and WETTEST roller coaster in Europe! and it is quite WET, but not as wet as Tidal wave at Thorpe Park, the comments from other new riders are always intersting to listen too. This was our favourite ride at this park.

2. SNAKE RIVER FALLS
   is a water slide with little rubber boats which go down tubes, you only get a bit wet.

3. WATERFALL
   is a water slide where you ride down on a little plastic sledge then skim across the water at the bottom. There is a sign which says some riders capsize and get very wet.
